Name: Shawn

Location: East Tennessee

Age: 18

Primary Instrument: Bari sax

Other Instruments: Flute, any other sax you put in my hand.

Bands or artists who have influenced you: Cole Porter, Glenn Miller, Don Ellis, Stan Kenton, Maynard Ferguson, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Ella Fitzgerald, Blossom Dearie, Eydie Gorme, George Gershwin, etc

Previous band/musical experience: 7 years on flute. Plenty of experience on bari sax. Lessons from University of Louisville, 2 years of in-school jazz, double weekend gig of an Evening With Cole Porter show [original charts, none of the arranged-for-babies bits], semester of university jazz band, performed in[at] musicals/graduations/church/etc. I've pretty much got all the bases covered.

What kind of band you are looking for: Jazz, Swing, Funk, Big Band. If you can fit in a bari, I'm game.

Gear: Selmer & Keilwerth baris, both professional models.

Anything else you think we should know:

Name: Chad

Location: Indianapolis

Age: 26

Primary style: metal, although I like all styles of music

Primary Instrument: guitar

Other Instruments: bass, drums, vocals, some keyboards

Bands or artists who have influenced you: Pantera/Damageplan, System of a Down, Testament, Slayer, Crowbar, Acid Bath, Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Sublime, and many, many more...

Previous band/musical experience: Been in a few garage bands but never anything serious. Mostly just jamming with friends.

What kind of band you are looking for: Metal

Gear: Getting a blue Ibanez with locking Floyd Rose in a couple of weeks, and a small practice Crate amp, but saving for Behringer Half stack. Not a fan of effects, but will use them rarely when necessary. Pretty much just like to plug and play straight up.

Anything else you think we should know: Just want to meet a few people to jam for fun for now, but eventually I want to do something serious. Gotta be at least 21 and able to tolerate being around stoners! LOL! If you're straight edge, cool. Whatever works for you. But don't preach to me cuz I don't give a shit. To each his own...

Me. I'm right here where I'm at.

Name: Edward Grant

Location: NE tip of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.

Age: 19

Primary Instrument: Guitar, Bass, handclaps.

Other Instruments: Human voice, tambourine, mandolin, piano.

Bands or artists who have influenced you: The Beach Boys, Carole King, Motown, Philly soul music, They Might be Giants, Elton John, Billy Joel, Ben Folds, Crowded House, Willie Nelson, Dwight Yoakam, Rick James, Prince, Frank Zappa.

Previous band/musical experience: Two seperate half-hearted do-nothing unimagaintion-denial bands, for about four months apiece. Three years of high-school choir, one year of high-school band. One year of college with intention of majoring in music/English before deciding "No. It won't help." roughly 18 years of listening to music.

What kind of band you are looking for: Not necessarily looking for a full band right now, but at least somebody interested in songwriting, as opposed to what riffs one can play and rip off. Not too 'rock.' Possibly pianists/keyboardists/accordion players... not very interested in electric guitarists unless they're serious noise artists and/or true melodic geniuses. Maybe I'm too picky. Hmm.

Gear: Battered acoustic; cheap cheap Squier 5-string bass, cheaply defretted; Squier Strat, low E tuner removed; two human hands. No amps currently in working condition. But working on it.

Anything else you think we should know: Bored but not boring. Absurd at times, but usually at least irrational.

NOISE RAWK(MY CAPS ARE BROKED)

Name:Erock Radd

Location:LA

Age:19

Primary Instrument:Electric Guitar, and the acoustic kind too.

Other Instruments:Electric Bass

Bands or artists who have influenced you: Right now the big ones that I'm ripping off are: Autolux, Lightning bolt, Comets on Fire, Acid Mothers Temple, and Howling Wolf

Previous band/musical experience:I knocked around in a bunch of bands that never really did anything.

What kind of band you are looking for: I'd like to be in a Trio, where the Bassist plays really Distorted and sings. And the Drummer is basically going completely insane, doing like industrial dance beats. And I'd be making sweet discordant waves of sound. But I'm open to anything.

Gear:I once turned my amp to 5 and I heard nothing but white noise I'm scared of what 10 would do. So yeah, We can jam.

Anything else you think we should know:my head hurts, I need some advil.

What kind of band you are looking for: A rock band that can play all types of rock.. but are particularly proud of their southern heritage.

Gear: Gibson Les Paul, several keyboards,a book full of my own songs,( my old band took all the amps but mine)

Comment if you're interested in trying out or getting the old band's 'cover cd'

Newbie

Hi, I new to this or any communities.

Name: Mark aka Shyboy

Location: Columbus Ohio

Age: 40

Primary Instrument: Guitar Other Instruments:Bass(6 years), Drums(2.5 years), Vocals(2years), and some keyboards(about 6mths).

Bands or artists who have influenced you: Metallica, Alan Jackson, Ozzy, Garth Brooks, Kitaro, Toby Keith, Motley Crue, Ratt, Judas Preist, Scorpains.

Previous band/musical experience: I've been playing guitar for over twenty years now. I started in '92 and been playing ever since. I was in a Band that almost got off the ground but didn't go anywhere. "Lawless Breed"

What kind of band you are looking for: Looking for a country band that the main "catch" about our band is that all the bandmember's can play other instruments. I think it would be cool that during a show, about four or five songs into the set everyone trades places, drummer plays the bass, bassplayer plays the guitar, guitar player plays drums,(you get the idea)and then the set goes on for a couple more song and then we switch again.

Gear: Acoustic Guitar, Two Bas Guitars, Two Keyboards, Three Sampson Vocal Mic.s,
12 Rack Effect processors(Some hooked to guitars and bass others for Vocals),  4-Track Cassette Recorder. Computer Multi-Track Recording Software.

Anything else you think we should know: I am starting to open my own Home-Recording Studio named "Shyboy Studio's" If you are an amature artist but want to hear yourself on Cassette or CD.
"Shyboy Studio's" is for you. If you are one person (or two at the most. I don't have the room for more than two) who may feel that they might not be good enough for a "Professiona" Studio, then we are for you. If you are the type that wants to get knee-deep involved in your recording, actually being part of the "Mixing and Mastering" part of the recording then we're for you.
I am an amature Audio Producer but I've been Recording and Mixing for 2.5 years.
I'll only record  Country,  Soft Rock, and Contemperary Christain Music.

Other Instruments:Keyboard, Guitar

Bands or artists who have influenced you:Green Day, The Doors, Janis Joplin, anyone from the 60s and 70s

Previous band/musical experience:none

What kind of band you are looking for:mostly rock, but I want to start one that does a mix of music like country, rock, and old stuff, etc

Gear:I have drumset, and I am getting an acoustic guitar, keyboard

Anything else you think we should know:I'd prefer having band members 16 and older, I may already have a vocalist, I don't really care if you are a male or a female, as long as you can play your instrument
