Other Instruments: Human voice, tambourine, mandolin, piano.

Bands or artists who have influenced you: The Beach Boys, Carole King, Motown, Philly soul music, They Might be Giants, Elton John, Billy Joel, Ben Folds, Crowded House, Willie Nelson, Dwight Yoakam, Rick James, Prince, Frank Zappa.

Previous band/musical experience: Two seperate half-hearted do-nothing unimagaintion-denial bands, for about four months apiece. Three years of high-school choir, one year of high-school band. One year of college with intention of majoring in music/English before deciding "No. It won't help." roughly 18 years of listening to music.

What kind of band you are looking for: Not necessarily looking for a full band right now, but at least somebody interested in songwriting, as opposed to what riffs one can play and rip off. Not too 'rock.' Possibly pianists/keyboardists/accordion players... not very interested in electric guitarists unless they're serious noise artists and/or true melodic geniuses. Maybe I'm too picky. Hmm.

Gear: Battered acoustic; cheap cheap Squier 5-string bass, cheaply defretted; Squier Strat, low E tuner removed; two human hands. No amps currently in working condition. But working on it.

Anything else you think we should know: Bored but not boring. Absurd at times, but usually at least irrational.

Hi, I new to this or any communities.

Name: Mark aka Shyboy

Location: Columbus Ohio

Age: 40

Primary Instrument: Guitar Other Instruments:Bass(6 years), Drums(2.5 years), Vocals(2years), and some keyboards(about 6mths).

Bands or artists who have influenced you: Metallica, Alan Jackson, Ozzy, Garth Brooks, Kitaro, Toby Keith, Motley Crue, Ratt, Judas Preist, Scorpains.

What kind of band you are looking for: Looking for a country band that the main "catch" about our band is that all the bandmember's can play other instruments. I think it would be cool that during a show, about four or five songs into the set everyone trades places, drummer plays the bass, bassplayer plays the guitar, guitar player plays drums,(you get the idea)and then the set goes on for a couple more song and then we switch again.

Gear: Acoustic Guitar, Two Bas Guitars, Two Keyboards, Three Sampson Vocal Mic.s,
12 Rack Effect processors(Some hooked to guitars and bass others for Vocals),  4-Track Cassette Recorder. Computer Multi-Track Recording Software.

Anything else you think we should know: I am starting to open my own Home-Recording Studio named "Shyboy Studio's" If you are an amature artist but want to hear yourself on Cassette or CD.
"Shyboy Studio's" is for you. If you are one person (or two at the most. I don't have the room for more than two) who may feel that they might not be good enough for a "Professiona" Studio, then we are for you. If you are the type that wants to get knee-deep involved in your recording, actually being part of the "Mixing and Mastering" part of the recording then we're for you.
I am an amature Audio Producer but I've been Recording and Mixing for 2.5 years.
I'll only record  Country,  Soft Rock, and Contemperary Christain Music.

Hello,

I am a twenty year old guitarist/singer who is looking for an upright or electric bassist and drummer to play music with. I have recorded and played live for several years now and I would like to form a trio to practice original songs and one or two covers. We can work on finding gigs later, but my main goal now is to form a group and practice as much as possible.

Here are some of the qualifications:

- You must be between the ages of 18 and 25. I want to work with someone in my age group. I don't mind playing with older or younger people, it's just really not my preference. I want to be able to hang out, play music, have a beer or two and have a good time.

- You have to have at least a basic understanding of music. You don't have to be a professional by any means, just kind of have an idea of how music works.

- You have to have good taste in music. If you are a emo-geek, a metalhead, a hippy or a fan of G.G. Allin, then I don't want to have anything to do with you. Sorry. My main influences are listed below, so if you like some of the bands on the list, then I want to meet you.

- You have to have your own amps, and or drum set. Again, you don't have to have PRO equipment, because I sure as hell don't. You just have to have something we can practice with.

- And finally, you have to live somewhere in the East Bay. I don't have a car, so I have to take the bus or the BART to wherever it is that we're going to practice.

OKAY!! Now that we have all of that out of the way, here are a list of bands that I like. If you also like any of these bands or music that is similar, please contact me at once.

INFLUENCES:

- The Damned
- The Sisters of Mercy
- Stray Cats
- The Birthday Party
- Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
- Elvis Presley
- Joy Division
- Bauhaus
- Gene Vincent
- Fats Domino
- Eddie Cochran
- Reverend Horton Heat
- Throwrag
- The Mummies
- Dave Vanian and the Phantom Chords
- The Coffinshakers
- The Cramps
- Tiger Army
- The Misfits
- Hank Williams
- Howlin' Wolf
- Johnny Cash
- Screaming Lord Sutch
- The Blasters

And there are many more, but I think you may get the point. I like a lot of Rockabilly, both new and old. I listen to a lot of Post Punk/Goth music and old style Punk.

Here is a website or two with downloadable songs that I have recorded. If you like what you hear, then contact me at once so that we can get started.

http://www.soundclick.com/beatnickphantom

Thanks very much, I hope to hear from you soon.

Nick

Name: Luby

Location: Malaga, Spain

Age: 16

Primary Instrument: vocals

Other Instruments: a bit of guitar, piano, and i'm a trainee sound engineer

Bands or artists who have influenced you: nirvana, nin, rammstein, bikini kill, slayer, the smashing pumkins, massive attack, placebo, soundgarden, muse, a perfect circle, björk, coil, das ich, prodigy, gary numan, incubus, jack off jill, joy division, KMFDM, skinny puppy, ministry, tool but mainly industrial bands

Previous band/musical experience:
started off going musicals, annie, west side story, sound of music, that kind of thing, but i went off the idea of being on the west end stage when i started to hang around with actors. i've made my own demo, with a little help from my last singing teacher. done a few grades here and there, and sang with 2 bands, one of which disbanded before christmas.

What kind of band you are looking for: anyone who's willing to work with this rather head strong singer/song writer. aged between: 16-21. as long as you can play to a good standard, dedicated to music, and are flexible, and within travling distance to fuengirola or malaga...

Gear:a crappy encore guitar, a spanish acoustic, and my own mixing equipment.

Anything else you think we should know: i write all my own lyrics, and unless we're doing a cover i pretty much dislike singing other peoples material. i'm seriously dedicated to my music, and i don't like working with people who aren't. i'd really like to work with a band without a singer or maybe just a few musicians that want to get a band together. i do tend to do more rocky stuff than anything else, but i'm not tied to one genre.

Name: Jason

Location: Western NY

Age: 23

Primary Instrument: Bass

Other Instruments: Guitar, piano

Bands or artists who have influenced you: King's X, first and foremost. For heavy stuff; Zakk Wylde, Anthrax, Megadeth, Corrosion of Conformity, Nevermore. Pop Influences; Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Flaming Lips, Peter Gabriel, Neal Morse, Portishead. Prog Influences: Spock's Beard, Yes, Rush, Pain of Salvation, Genesis, Gentle Giant, King Crimson

Previous band/musical experience: Have been playing bass for close to ten years now, and have been in several bands, currently in Punchclock - a heavy metal band.

What kind of band you are looking for: I am looking for an outlet for my pop/prog writing - my current band, which I love, is strictly for heavy shit, so that obviously won't work there. I do a fair amount of writing, but I'm probably best at arranging/adding basslines to previously written guitar parts. I also can't sing to save my life, so if you come up with good melodies, I like you.

Gear: Ibanez ATK bass, Gibson Les Paul, various amps + effects, Samplitude 6.0, Reason 2.0, a shitload of plug-ins, and a shitload of mics, a variety of high-quality desks.

Anything else you think we should know: I am quite satisfied with my current band, I just need a creative writing outlet - I am looking at a side project/collaboration type deal, not necessarily a full-time band.

[music |Chuck Berry - Carol]

Given Name: Nicholas Wilson

Location: Berkeley,CA (San Francisco Bay Area)

Age: 20

Primary Instrument: Electric and acoustic guitar

Other Instruments: Banjo, voice

Bands or artists who have influenced you: The Damned, Agent Orange, the Cramps, TSOL, Elvis Presley, Howlin' Wolf, Throwrag, the Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Johnny Cash, Morrissey, the Ventures, David Vanian and the Phantom Chords, the Coffinshakers, and probably many more.

Previous band/musical experience: The Non-Dairy Creamers (click for MP3's and stuff).

What kind of band you are looking for: I'm just looking for someone to write and play music with. I play mostly original tunes, but I don't mind playing covers. I would prefer to meet a bassist or drummer, and someone who is serious about making music, but not so serious that they don't havea sense of humour about it.

Gear: I have a 1984 Gibson SG, a Marshall Valvestate amp (60 watts) and an Alvarez acoustic guitar that I installed a Fishman pickup in.Other than that, I have a standard Shure stage mic, a Casio keyboard and a Fender Squier P-Bass. I also play a Fender five string banjo.

Anything else you think we should know: I'd like to play music with someone who is in the same general age range that I'm in (like 18 - 25 years old) and that is open minded to new ideas.

Here's a picture if me
